FosterHub is a web application for animal rescue organizations, admins, and foster volunteers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using FosterHub.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number, account credentials, organization details, role, program access, and profile preferences. Rescue organizations and users may also enter animal data, foster assignments, updates, notes, calendar events, requests, chats, resources, FAQ content, and related rescue coordination records.
We may collect usage data such as login activity, pages or features used, device and browser information, approximate location derived from technical data, error logs, and interactions with notifications. If payments are added in the future, billing information may be processed through Stripe or another payment provider.
How We Use Information
We use information to provide and improve FosterHub, create and manage user accounts, authenticate users, support organization and species/program filtering, show role-appropriate dashboards, manage animals and foster workflows, send transactional notifications, provide customer support, troubleshoot issues, improve security, and communicate important service updates.
FosterHub may send SMS communications through Twilio for transactional notifications related to FosterHub activity, such as urgent rescue alerts, reminders, care coordination, account-related messages, or organization workflow updates. SMS messages are transactional only and are not used for marketing. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed to operate FosterHub, comply with legal obligations, protect rights and safety, or with your organization according to the role and permissions configured in the platform.
We use service providers such as Firebase and Google Cloud for authentication, hosting, database, and application infrastructure; Twilio for transactional SMS delivery; and Stripe if payments are added in the future. These providers process information on our behalf according to their own service terms and privacy practices.
Data Retention
We retain account, organization, animal, communication, and usage data for as long as needed to provide FosterHub, support rescue operations, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. Organizations may request deletion or correction of certain data, subject to operational, legal, and backup retention needs.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect FosterHub data, including authenticated access, role-based permissions, and secure third-party infrastructure. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect information and reduce risk.
User Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export certain personal information. You may also request updates to your account information or ask your rescue organization to review information associated with your role. To request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of your personal information, or a copy of certain data associated with your account, contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your identity and may retain certain information where required for legal, security, backup, fraud prevention, or legitimate operational reasons.
Cookies / Analytics
FosterHub may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember preferences, support security, measure usage, and improve product reliability. We may use analytics tools to understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the service.
Third-Party Services
FosterHub relies on third-party services including Firebase and Google, Twilio, and Stripe if payments are added. Your use of FosterHub may involve those providers processing information for authentication, storage, SMS messaging, payments, security, hosting, or operational support.
Children's Privacy
FosterHub is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through FosterHub, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to review and delete it.
Changes to Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and may provide additional notice through the service or by email where appropriate. Continued use of FosterHub after changes means the updated policy applies.
